Research interests
Against a background in linguistics and sociology, my research interests are centered around the discursive construction of social order. My methodological focus is on the social effects of language in use. While addressing questions of power, knowledge and social change, I have pursued research on academic, educational as well as political discourses. With a background in German sociology, French linguistic discourse analysis and the qualitative traditions of the North American social sciences, I place emphasis on both the theoretical and empirical dimensions of discourse research.
Please get in touch if you are interested in DiscourseNet or in my work on academic practices and careers in the line of my ERC projects DISCONEX and INTAC.
